Before the wedding ◆ Consultation

Work out where and how you can marry

Most couples who come to us have already read ten different answers online. Your passports, your religions and where you live all change what’s possible, so generic advice rarely fits. In a consultation we sit down with your actual situation and lay out the options that are open to you, with the steps and paperwork each one needs.

We also talk about what happens after the ceremony. The route you choose can affect a spouse visa, how your children are registered, and how inheritance works later. It’s much easier to think about this now than to fix it afterwards.

03

We go through each route that’s open to you, with the documents, timing and practical consequences of each.

04

After the call you receive your options and next steps in writing, so you can decide calmly together.

Your questions ◇

Consultation FAQ

Can we get married in the UAE if we’re from different religions?

Often yes, but it depends on which religions and which nationalities are involved. Some combinations can marry under a civil route, others have conditions, and some couples find another country is simpler. We look at your specific pair of passports and religions in the consultation and tell you what’s realistic for the two of you. General rules found online often don’t apply.

Is a civil marriage in the UAE recognised in my home country?

Many countries recognise a marriage that was legally performed abroad, but the steps to register it at home vary a lot. Some need attestation or translation, some need you to register at your embassy. We check how it works for your nationality and include it in your summary, so you know before you commit to a route.

Do we both need to attend the consultation?

It helps if you can, because the decisions affect both of you and you’ll each have different questions. If one of you is abroad or can’t make the time, they can join online. If only one of you can come, we’ll still cover everything and you’ll get the written summary to share.

Can you tell us how our marriage affects inheritance?

We explain the main points that usually matter, such as which law might apply and why some couples make a will or prenup. Inheritance rules depend on your nationalities, religions, where you live and where your assets are. For anything that needs a formal legal opinion, we’ll say so and can introduce you to a partner lawyer.

Does a consultation commit us to anything?

No. It’s there so you can make a clear decision. Some couples go on to use Easy Wedding™ for the ceremony or Easy Family for documents or a prenup. Others take the summary and do the rest themselves. Either is fine with us.

We’re not engaged yet. Is it too early to talk?

Not at all. Some of the most useful conversations happen before anyone has proposed, because you can plan around what you learn. Knowing early which country makes sense, or which documents take longest, saves a lot of stress later. You can come on your own or as a couple.
