After the wedding ◆ Family support

Bring both your families a little closer

After the wedding, two families start living with each other’s habits, holidays and expectations. Sometimes that’s easy. Sometimes a parent feels left out, or wants to visit for months, or can’t understand why the ceremony was done a certain way. We help with the practical side and, when it helps, with the conversations too.

On the practical side, that means relocation help when you move countries, and visa files when you want your parents to visit or live near you. For the harder conversations, we work with experienced mediators.

How it works ◆

Step by step

01

We start with a call about your move, your parents’ plans or the family situation. You decide what you want help with.

02

We prepare visa files for parents, help with relocation papers and point you to local services.

03

If there’s tension between families, we suggest a mediator who understands both cultures. Sessions can include parents if they agree.

04

We check in after big moments like a move or a visit, and help again if needed.

Your questions ◇

Family support FAQ

Can I bring my parents to live with us in the UAE?

Some residents can sponsor parents, but the conditions depend on things like salary, housing and visa type, and they change from time to time. A visit visa is often a simpler option for shorter stays. Your advisor checks your situation and tells you which route fits.

What does family mediation look like?

It’s a structured conversation led by a neutral mediator, sometimes with only the two of you, sometimes with parents too. The aim is for everyone to be heard and to agree on a few practical things. It’s not therapy and nobody is judged. Sessions can be in person or online.

My parents don’t speak English. Can they still take part?

Yes. We try to find a mediator who speaks their language, or arrange interpretation if needed. Speaking in their own language often makes parents feel more at ease and more willing to listen. Tell us their language at the first call so we can plan the session around it from the start.

Do you help with moving countries?

We help with the paperwork side of relocation, such as visas, attestations and registrations, and point you to local services for housing and schools. We don’t move furniture. We can tell you what to sort out first and in what order.

My family is against our marriage. Can you help?

We can’t promise anyone will change their mind, but we can help you prepare for the conversation and, if your family is open to it, arrange a session with a mediator who understands both sides. Some couples also find counselling helpful for handling this as a team.

Is this only for couples who married with Easy Wedding™?

No. Any international or interfaith couple can come to us, wherever you married. If your marriage papers need fixing or attesting for another country, we can help with that too. Tell us where you married and where you live now, and we’ll start from there.
